NOTE FOR GOOGLE CHROME USERS:

Google will be removing support for the Silverlight plug-in for Chrome.  Silverlight is an extension that is used by the GIS, LLC website to display mapping data and tools.  The default setting to enable Silverlight was turned off in April 2015.  Silverlight support will be permanently disabled in September 2015.  If you are a Chrome user and would like to continue using Chrome for the GIS, LLC site, you may override the setting for now.  Otherwise, you may use either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to access the site. To override the disabling of the Silverlight extension in Chrome, please visit chrome://flags/#enable-npapi to enable NPAPI. After doing so, you will need to re-launch Chrome for the changes to take effect.

 

 

How to use the School Zone Locator HELP PAGE

 

 

  1. Click on the "School Zone Locator" link above.

  2. You will be taken to another website that may ask you to install Microsoft Silverlight.

  3. If you are asked to install Microsoft Silverlight, please do so using the on-screen instructions.

  4. After Microsoft Silverlight is installed, you will see a map of Huntsville, Alabama and the zone lines for all of the elementary schools in Huntsville City Schools.

  5. To search for the schools zoned for your address, place your mouse cursor over the blue "Tools" button.

  6. Select "Find My School." This will cause a window to appear on the right side of your screen.

  7. In that new window, please input your correct street address.

  8. Click the "Find" button. [Please note: you do not need to input any other information besides your street address].

  9. If you entered a valid Huntsville, Alabama address, you should see the three schools zoned for your address.

  10. If you received the "Address not found" message, please check to ensure that you used your correct street address. If you used the correct street address and still received this message, please contact Huntsville City Schools at (256) 428-6892.
