Quick Start Guides and Informative Links

(1)  Click on the following link:  https://webmail.hsv-k12.org/owa.  This should take you to

the sign-in page for the HCS email.  If the link doesn't work, open your internet browser

(For most of us, that means:  Go to the Huntsville City Schools website.), go to the long,

narrow box at the top of the screen (the "address field") and type in the "address" just

as it appears.  (https://webmail.hsv-k12.org/owa).

(2)  Now, look at the top, right corner of the screen.  There should be three little boxes.  The first has the

"minus" to minimize the page.  The second has a picture of two pages.  This makes the page smaller but still

visible.  The third is "the big red X" that closes the page.  Click on the "two page" box.  The sign-in page

should be smaller, and you should be able to see your desktop around the edges.

(3)  Look at the top "address" box where you typed in https://webmail.hsv-k12.org/owa.  There should be

a big orange "O" at the beginning of that address now.

(6)  Put your cursor (pointer) on the big orange "O", left click, and HOLD THE LEFT CLICK BUTTON DOWN.

You can now "drag" the "O" off of the sign-in page onto your desktop ("drag and drop").  Once you are on

the desktop, let the left click button go.  There will now be a "big orange O" icon on your desktop!

(7)  The title under the "O" will be "Outlook Web App".  If that name is OK with you, just leave it.  You will

know what it is.  If you want to change it, right click on the words "Outlook Web App".  Then left click on

"Rename".  You can now type  and name the icon anything you want (examples:  "My email", "Email", "HCS

(8)  From then on, you will be able to get to your HCS email by simply clicking on the "big orange O" icon

on your desktop.  Yee-Haa!  You are in business!

NOTE:  An alternative to the "drag and drop" method would be to go to the sign-in page for your HCS email

and "save" this site in your "My Favorites".  If you do this, you will need to go to your "My Favorites"

every time you want to access your email and click on this choice.
