4/1/19 Weekly Update from Mr. Bonner

Dear AAA Families,

We are a community!   A parent approached me Friday after our Staff vs. Student basketball game.  She was excited by the growth of our school spirit that comes from such an event.  AAA has a phenomenal legacy that is due, in great part, to our sense of community.  Activities like Friday’s Event allow us to “let our hair down” and see one another in a different light.  The purpose is to build trust and fellowship among all members of our school. We even had a 7th Grade Dance Team!  The 4th and 7th graders are already promising revenge next year for close losses experienced by this year’s fifth and eight graders.  It was all in good fun with no injuries and a lot of good laughs.  As we move into April, there are numerous events, both art and academic related.  Our spring dance recital, called Masterpieces, is the week of April 8th with our evening performance on April 12th.  You can get a sneak preview at our PTA meeting this Tuesday, April 2nd at 6:30 p.m.   Speaking of our April PTA meeting…We have invited our new families to attend to get to know all of us at AAA.  Please come to help give them a warm welcome.

On April 13th our PTA will host our 2019 Spring Bash: 80s Addition.  This is a great chance for the adults involved with AAA to have a good time and support a silent auction that will help support our programs.

The AAA Spring Book Fair will be Monday, April 1 through Thursday, April 4 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Additionally,  our Book Fair will be open before and after the PTAmeeting Tuesday evening.  We still need volunteers to help make our Book Fair a success.  You can volunteer using the Sign Up Genius Link below or by emailing Mrs. Levert at brenda.Levert@hsv-k12.org.

Our Scantron State tests are the week of April 15, 2019.  Please plan on student rest the weekend before.  The best thing we can do for student improvement is help put their mind at ease.  Although the results are important it is vital that students are not stressed as they work on these tests.

Regards,

Paul Bonner
