Space Month at HCES

Space Month was the entire month of March and our students have learned so much! I am sharing the website that has all of the information about our Global Rocket Launch partnership with the USSRC. Anyone can register, so share this website with your friends and family! I have registered our school to launch 600 rockets on July 16th, so please make plans to come out to the school and launch some rockets with us on this day! I want this to be a community event and we are still in the planning stages. I will share information as more plans are developed. Global Rocket Launch Link

Our lead parents with Space Club HCES have determined the rocket types for each grade level and we will be sending out information about parent volunteers when your child's classroom builds and launches their rockets. Each grade level will build and launch a different type of rocket and as we continue Space Club HCES each year, our students will have the opportunity to build and launch different types of rockets. We hope you will join us for our fun rocket launches.

We received a generous donation from the National Space Club Huntsville for our rockets. We appreciate their support. I also want to thank Mr. Holsenback for all of the "space swag" donations. Our students love the stickers and bookmarks.

Last week was exciting for our 5th graders as they attend Space Camp! And, United Launch Alliance(ULA), came out on Friday, Mar. 29th, to build and launch paper rockets with our third and fourth graders. Thank you, Mrs. Wrenn, for securing ULA for this amazing opportunity.

I also want to give a special thank you to our parents who are working to coordinate with each grade level! We are so excited!

 Thank you,

 Ms. Spivey
