15,000 students (nationwide) are named Finalists.
We're excited to announce that all our Semifinalists achieved finalist standing!
Many colleges offer scholarships specifically for Finalists - example from University of Alabama - http://scholarships.ua.edu/nationalscholars/. You will notice quite a bit of difference between the scholarship for Semifinalist and the scholarship for Finalist. Colleges have different levels of scholarships for these students - not all the same.
Finalists are eligible for additional scholarship money directly from National Merit Scholarship Corporation or from corporate sponsors. Those scholarships will be awarded later in spring.
