School Readiness (Pre-K)

This program for Pre-Kindergarten students supports diversity, curiosity, play, and self-regulation. Visit the School Readiness (Pre-K) 

Digital Learning

HCS provides Windows laptops for all students in grades 3-12 and iPads for those in Pre-K through 2nd grade, as well as several online education resources. Visit Digital Learning

Blue Ribbon Schools

Blue Ribbon Schools are selected based on achievement of excellent performance in such areas as teaching, technology, and leadership. Our Blue Ribbon Schools

Cybersecurity

While Huntsville City Schools' goal is to prepare students to be college and career ready, the cybersecurity program offers an even greater head start. A number of participants have assumed part-time after-school jobs with local high-tech companies, doing hands-on work in cybersecurity.

The program begins as an introductory course in the seventh grade, with the option for students to continue their studies in a four-year continuum from grades 9-12.  

This program is offered in partnership with U.S. Army Cyber Command. Visit Cybersecurity

Greenpower

Greenpower is a unique, sustainable energy focused STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program in which students in grades 4-12 design, build, and race electric-powered cars. Huntsville City Schools is home to three national championship Greenpower teams, and maintains the highest concentration of Greenpower teams in the country. Visit Greenpower Schools
