Educate internationally-minded students through second language development, project-based learning, and community service as Huntsville’s only International Baccalaureate high school.
The College Academy is a new magnet program within Jemison High School and is the product of a partnership between Huntsville City Schools and The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Students offered admission to this magnet program will realize the benefits of completing up to sixty hours of college credits while also earning their high school diploma. Highly motivated and capable students will begin taking college courses in 9th grade from UAH professors while their high school courses are taught by Jemison High School teachers selected to be part of the College Academy team. Beginning in 11th grade, students can take up to two courses per year on the UAH campus so as to allow for an immersive college experience consistent with the personalized learning plan of each student. Funded entirely by Huntsville City Schools, the College Academy will allow students and families to avoid the substantial costs of college tuition and expenses associated with the first two years of an undergraduate degree.
The Priority Application window is January 4 - February 15
