2021-22 COVID-19 Mitigation Procedures

On July 26th, 2021, the Superintendent announced to the community that Huntsville City Schools (“HCS”) would be implementing procedures to address the spread of COVID-19.  The Superintendent is authorized to create these procedures under HCS Policy 4.18 regarding Public Health Precautions and Infectious Disease Mitigation which states that: The Superintendent is authorized to develop public health precautions and infectious disease mitigation procedures for all schools and other Board properties and all school sponsored activities.  Use the More Information button below to learn more and to see current COVID-19 mitigation procedures.


The Security Department is responsible for all Campus Security Operations, is the liaison with the Huntsville Police Department School Resource Officer Division, and manages all Security Operations in the District (which include but are not limited to facilities use management, ID badge issue and control, planning future security architecture, maintaining existing security architecture, and security training).

Huntsville City School's Security Office primary mission is to provide a safe environment for all students, staff and visitors.  We are also tasked with preventing damage and loss of property by responding to incidents quickly to maximize classroom uptime.

Preventative Measures:

  • Faculty & Staff - Call security when entering or leaving a building after hours and weekends

  • Faculty & Staff - Secure windows and doors in your area before you leave

  • Everyone - Report suspicious activity

  • Everyone - Take threats seriously

  • Everyone - Report outside lights that need repair
