Celebrating Education Parade & Festival

The Annual Celebrating Education Parade and Festival, sponsored by the Northwest Cluster of PTSAs, kicked off the start of another school year this morning. The parade traveled down Mastin Lake Road and onto Pulaski Pike before finishing at the Jemison High and McNair Junior High School Campus.  Bands, cheerleaders, dance teams, and other students from many schools, including Columbia High, Lee High, Jemison High, ASFL, Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary, Lakewood Elementary and more participated in this year’s event.  The festival was held on the Jemison / McNair Campus immediately following the parade and included fun activities, food, and competitions.  The event is held every year to mark the beginning of the school year as a way to excite the community and students about education.
