Huntsville Students Participate in Summer Robotics Camp
Huntsville City Schools, in partnership with National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), held a summer robotics camp for rising HCS students in grades 5th – 8th. Columbia High, Grissom High and New Century High hosted the week-long camp that engaged students in multiple aspects of engineering, along with how to build a fully automated LEGO Mindstorms or Vex Robots. Over 430 students participated in the week long activities held in June. A group of engineers served as camp mentors for the kids, and also included daily presentations from industry professionals. The camp capped off the week with a competition and awards presentation to recognize the students’ hard work.
