Jemison High Basketball Coach Jack Doss Selected ALL-USA Boys Basketball Coach of the Year

USA Today has selected Jemison Basketball Coach Jack Doss, as their ALL-USA Boys Basketball Coach of the Year.  Doss set a new Alabama record this year by winning his 10th state title leading the Jemison High Boys to their first trophy of the school’s inaugural year.  He has previous state championships at Johnson, Butler, and Hayes High School in Birmingham, with an all-time record of 812-329.

Doss says he is still on cloud nine after receiving the news and counts his blessings every day for the opportunity he has to work with kids.  Doss instills a sense of discipline, motivation, and hard work to students and says his reward comes from seeing his players go on to be successful in life.

Jack Doss was inducted in the 2015 Class of the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame, and is a previous inductee in the Madison County Sports Hall of Fame.  More than thirty of his players have gone on to Division I, including former NBA star Buck Johnson.
