Middle School Students Focus on Future with Career Fair

Students at Hampton Cove Middle got a chance to see and hear from experts in a variety of fields at the school’s annual career fair today.  The event featured occupations in the sixteen major career clusters including cyber security, advanced manufacturing, public safety, health science, engineering, banking, military and much more.  Huntsville City Schools Magnet Programs, along with area colleges, presented the many offerings available for students in the district.  In all, there were forty-four different companies and careers represented at the fair.

Crystal Hunter, a counselor with Hampton Cove Middle, says that this event gives students exposure to college and career choices that they may not have previously considered.   Hunter added that this event provides first-hand knowledge that can lead to an entirely new path for the kids.  The students were not only excited about the experience, but grateful to understand more about what it takes to achieve your dreams for a path to success.

The Hampton Cove Middle Career Fair has been an annual event for the past several years.  Events such as career day are designed to stir interest in jobs that are experiencing profound economic and technological changes.  The goal is to provide students with ways to gain knowledge and learn valuable career and life skills.
