Marianne Zollar grew up in Huntsville, AL dancing with Community Ballet/Huntsville Ballet Association, Performing Dance Arts, and the Images Dance Ensemble of Grissom High School. Mrs. Zollar is thrilled to be teaching Dance at the Academy for Academics and Arts. She believes that the arts are an integral part of education and is excited to instill an appreciation for dance in her students.

She earned a BA in Musical Theatre with a concentration in Dance from the University of Alabama. While at UA, Marianne gained a special scholarship and had the pleasure of working alongside the Director of Musical Theatre, Raphael Crystal, co-teaching and choreographing 400 level courses for three semesters. Marianne also worked as the Dance Lab Instructor, where she served as a tutor for struggling musical theatre students. She performed and choreographed for Dance Alabama! and the musical City of Angels, performed in a myriad of departmental shows (theatre, musical theatre, and dance). In addition to being in productions, Marianne was the Choreographer's Assistant for the regional premiere of Moby Dick and Dance Captain for Summertide's Dames at Sea. Upon graduation from college, Mrs. Zollar briefly lived and worked in NYC, but decided to return home to pursue her passion for teaching. Since being back, she has taught dance for private studios in the area.
