Mary Peck

Hello to AAA Families and our CITY! It is a privilege to meet you! I am the Magnet Orchestral Strings Conductor/Educator with The Academy for Academics and Arts prek-8th school. Having worked with 2nd thru 8th graders on violin, viola, cello, and double-bass (the bowed stringed instruments), and previously in Montgomery too, I would say after approximate math, I have taught over 4,000 children during the past 23 years:) and that's after playing in a professional symphony for over 12 years! All in all, doing both of these and having a family of my own, adds to the mix of knowing I LOVE sharing musicality, enthusiasm, and developing others' expertise and devotion to stringed instruments. The Academy is a wonderful home for nurturing the perfect combinations of Arts and Academics for overall student personal growth. Thank you for recognizing and allowing me to take part.
I look forward to each year and always enjoy 'reflecting' on the years that have passed.
So glad YOU are now a part of us.

Mary has taught in two Alabama Magnet Schools: Baldwin Junior High(with 4th-6th grade school programs extending), and The Academy for Academics & Arts 2nd-8th student strings program. Extents of musicianship have included being a section violinist in the Huntsville Symphony, working on call for projects in recording studios, being in back up string orchestras for celebrities (one being Ray Charles for a Hospital Fundraising Concert in Montgomery, AL!), performing in local arts orchestras for productions/ concerts. Her 'pop' to 'Classical' experiences entertwine. Mary continues to play in all types of scenarios time permitting aside from family and TEACHING first:)
