Welcome Back from Mrs. Thompson
Dear ASFL Families,
We are excited to begin a new school year. Our theme this year is Stepping It Up to the STARS at ASFL. We are overjoyed about the new and returning ASFL family teachers, students, and parents. Our goal is to help our families feel safe and continue academic achievement as we transition through the new school year.
I want you to know the focus will be on keeping an engaging and safe learning environment while ensuring all students are mastering the necessary standards with excellence. We will work as a team to help increase student achievement and develop rigorous programs. We will accomplish this goal by continuing to build strong parent, teacher, and student relationships, creating relevant science and foreign language lessons while also continuing our focus on all other disciplines, focusing on standards mastery, and strengthening our parent and community involvement. Additionally, we will continue to focus on the five pillars of Huntsville City Schools. These pillars are improving student achievement, developing the whole student academically, socially, and emotionally, increasing teacher network and growth, sustaining efficient operations with a safe environment, and enhancing community connectedness.
We have an innovative faculty, staff, students, and supportive parents. We will work as a team to make sure we are “stepping it up” to a great year! We will continue to increase our students’ academic achievement by helping students excel in all areas. Additionally, we will continue excellence in all our magnet programs. We will have our meet and greet/schedule pick up on July 29th from 1-3 pm. Parents and students will be able meet teachers, tour the school, and drop off supplies. Our new student orientation will be on August 1st from 9 am- 10 am in our AV Room. More information about this will be sent closer to the date. We are excited to celebrate and welcome all of our new families. Also, please review our School Supply List.
