Black History Program

ASFL's PTA prepared an outstanding Black History Program to educate students on the contributions of Black History in relation to the Harlem Renaissance. Our 3rd Graders commenced our ceremony with The Iron Tribe. Our 2nd Graders honored Madam C.J. Walker's memory. Our 1st Graders prepared a Harlem Renaissance Fashion Show. Our Kindergarteners sang "Lift Every Voice and Sing," and the ASFL Gospel Choir sang "God Bless the Child." Our Jazz Band performed musical selections with a talented 7th grade vocalist. Middle school students read poetry by Paul Laurence Dunbar, Langston Hughes, and 8th grade poems inspired by Langston Hughes. Lastly, 5th Grade finished the program with a step show. Thanks to all who contributed to a honorable and memorable program!
