Robotics

Students use science, technology , engineering and math to design and create a robot that will perform specific tasks. Each team is provided materials that include plywood, screws, PVC, motors, servos, and controller. The team must work effectively during the 6 week design and building process.

How to Join / Membership Requirements: 
Tryouts are announced in April and are open to all rising 7-8 grade students. Students use ASFL's robot to maneuver through a course as quick as possible to assess driving ability. Team members must attend the robotics Saturday kick-off and Saturday competition at Calhoun College in Decatur. In addition, the team must attend practices after school, on Saturdays, and on Holidays. Kick-off occurs in September and the competition is late October.
