NASA Astrophysicist Visits Blossomwood for Eclipse Presentation

Dr. Amy Winebarger visited upper grade students at Blossomwood on Tuesday, August 15.  Dr. Winebarger is an astrophysicist at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center.  She spoke with students about the solar eclipse and reminded them of the importance of not looking at the sun during the eclipse without the correct eyewear.  Students also learned that the size of our moon and it's distance from Earth make it the perfect size to eclipse our sun.

Dr. Winebarger explains what happens during a solar eclipse.  Students act out the roles of Sun, Moon, and Earth during an eclipse.
