Principal's Message 09-20-21

Dear Blossomwood Families,

Thank you for your daily efforts at home to help our students have a great day each and every day at Blossomwood! Success does not occur by accident. It was especially good seeing many of our students and their families at the Huntsville High School Homecoming Parade last Tuesday night as well as at the Nothing But Noodles Spirit Night! What a fun day!

As we all continue to work through the current health challenge, I wanted to pass along some helpful information or tips about how we can help our children to overcome some of the anxiety around the pandemic, they may be experiencing.

  1. Address Apprehensions - Students are excited to return to school and a sense of a routine, but they may have lingering fears about risks of illness. Remind them that those feelings are normal and okay.
  2. Be Honest - Students of all ages recognize that things are still not quite back to "normal." Provide opportunities for your child(ren) to talk about their experiences and concerns.
  3. Schedule Informal Family Time - While this may seem unusual, many of us find ourselves busier than we were prior to the pandemic. As a result, it is often helpful to schedule some "family time" each week (board game night, watch a favorite movie together, etc.). It provides something for the child(ren) to look forward to as well as establishing it as a priority for your family. Let's have another great week of learning at Blossomwood!
