Thank You to our Blossomwood Garden Club!

We would like to say thank you to our wonderful neighbors that make up the Blossomwood Garden Club! Last week, these ladies visited our campus and renovated the two flower beds at our front entrance. They pulled weeds, planted beautiful pansies, and added pine straw to provide a finishing touch. What a great first impression for our visitors and all to enjoy! If you know someone in the Blossomwood Garden Club, please tell them thank you!

Want to Become More Involved at Blossomwood?

As we all continue to return to a sense of normalcy, we encourage folks to volunteer and become more involved at Blossomwood. If you would like to volunteer, help out in some capacity, etc., please reach out to our parent coordinator, Mrs. Ashley FitzGerald. Part of her role as parent coordinator includes establishing a parent advisory committee, hosting parent events, leading parent trainings, building relationships with all parents in our school, and acting as a liaison between the parent community and the school.

Reminder: Second Semester After School Care- AlphaBest

Huntsville City Schools is planning to adjust after-school programming when elementary students return from Winter Break. Our current after-school tutoring program will end on December 17, 2021, to wrap up this semester.

HCS will continue to offer after school tutoring only to students who meet the requirements of the Alabama Literacy Act. This Alabama Literacy Act Tutoring will take place each week beginning in January on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30-4:30. Again, beginning second semester, this will be only for students who meet the requirements based on the Alabama Literacy Act. Our teachers have made contact with the families who have students who meet these requirements.

Beginning second semester, HCS will begin offering after-school care with AlphaBEST at Blossomwood Elementary School (see picture in the Panthergram for more information on AlphaBEST). AlphaBEST is enrolling students now! Students must be registered to attend. Please visit their website to enroll.  Please go ahead and enroll if you plan for your child to attend this after school program, as they are currently staffing the program and need to know how many staff members to hire.

If your child is missing a jacket, coat, sweatshirt, etc., please encourage them to check the lost & found located outside the cafeteria. Our collection has really grown since the first spell of colder weather.

Thanks again for all that you do at home to make Blossomwood a great place for learning!

Sincerely,
Bradley A. Scott, Ed.D.
