Principal's Welcome Back Letter 8-5-19

It is almost time! This Monday, August 5th is the first day of school. School begins at 8:00 AM. We recommend that you arrive early as everyone becomes reacquainted with the traffic patterns.

Parents and students may enter either from Tennessee Street or Olive Drive in the mornings and afternoons. Please remember that the front of the building at the cafeteria doors is for Pre-K and bus drop off and pick up only. All K-6 car riders will use the car line at the east side of the building for drop off and pick up. While on campus please drive slowly and do not use your cell phone. We have attached two resources to help with traffic. Thank you in advance for being patient as there will be many additional cars to process during the first few days and additional time should be expected as families buckle small children into their car seats.

As students enter the building they are welcome to proceed directly to their classroom. Students who have not registered and/or parents have not provided proof of residence will report to the library/ media center. Students will not receive a homeroom or schedule unless they are registered for class and provide a valid proof of residence. Students who are not present (for any reason) starting the first day of school will be marked as a “no show” student and must re-enroll.

Bus Routes

If you have any questions about your student’s bus route that information may be found on the HCS transportation website.

Dress Code & Personal Electronic Devices

Students are expected to arrive on time and dressed according to the HCS dress code. Students may not use personal electronic devices during the school day. The HCS dress code and personal electronic device policy may be found here.

Students will be reissued their laptop the first week of school starting with sixth grade.

Lastly, we would like to thank our wonderful Blossomwood PTA for providing a fun, well-organized, and informative Camp Panther. It was a great time for all!

See you Monday!
Bradley A. Scott, Ed.D.
