Chaffee Elementary News 9/11/2022

Greetings CES Families,

We enjoyed a wonderful week last week! Everyone watched the Student Council Officer Election speeches on the CES News. I am so proud of all our students who ran for office! Each student experienced the voting process by voting for the candidate whom they thought would be the best fit for the position. A special thank you to Ms. Booker for being our Student Council sponsor and for organizing the campaign and voting process. Congratulations to all who participated! We will announce our officers this coming week.

Please remember how important it is to get your child(ren) to school every day and on time. We know from research that attendance in school is extremely important to every child’s success and is strongly associated with academic success. Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 15 or more days of school for any reason- including excused and unexcused absences. We need your support by having your child attend school every day possible. If your child is ill and must be out, please send in a doctor or parent excuse within two days of returning to school. We appreciate your help with this! We love your kiddos, and we want to see them daily!

As with many other businesses, our school is experiencing difficulty finding personnel to fill certain positions. We are in search of special education instructional assistants (hired through Huntsville City Schools), a library aide (hired through SPUR), and a permanent substitute teacher aide (hired through SPUR). If you are interested in working in any of these areas, please reach out to me at Chaffee is a great place to work!

Soar Eagles,

April Clark
