Chaffee Elementary News 9/26/2022

Principal's Pen

Greetings CES Families,

This week is College & Career Week. It is never too early for students to think about their future path. Please help your student to participate in this week’s planned activities (see the flyer below). We want our students to know that their future is full of endless possibilities!

Students who were in grades 2nd, 3rd, or 4th last school year and who took the ACAP assessment in the spring, had their ACAP parent reports sent home on September 7th in their take home folder. I will be hosting a data review on Tuesday, September 27th at 6:00pm in our cafeteria for anyone who is interested in hearing about our school-wide attendance and ACAP data.

As a reminder, Friday, September 30th, is an eLearning day for all Huntsville City Schools. Be on the lookout for more information from your child’s teacher about this day. All students will receive assignments that will be turned in using the method requested by the classroom teacher. In addition, K-5 classroom teachers will provide three support times via zoom to assist students with instruction, assignments, and/or answer instructional questions the students may have.

Thank you to everyone who has sold items for our Cherrydale fundraiser. Funds raised will directly support our students. Keep selling!

Soar Eagles,

April Clark

Principal

It is vital that students are present each day unless sick. Students are allowed a limit of 7 parent sick notes a year. Students are considered truant if they have more than three unexcused absences at any time or if they have more than 15 absences for the year, whether the absences are excused or unexcused.

Please send excuse notes to your child's teacher or email them to sarah.cothren@hsv-k12.org.
