First Day of School

Monday, August 17 is the first day of school for the 2020-21 term.  Students enrolled in the Traditional Learning Framework will begin the 1st 9 weeks in Remote Learning due to the current COVID-19 health situation.  For information about what that will look like this year, please click the more information button below to view the Reset Plan Information Hub.

LaKer Barber

Hello friends and family of Chaffee Elementary. I am Mrs. Barber, I will be teaching 2nd grade. My family and I have recently relocated to Huntsville from Maryland. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 18 years, and we have three amazing kids. We are excited to begin our journey here in Alabama. I enjoy traveling, we have been to 32 states. We are huge Auburn fans (War Eagle), as well as LaKers fans. My classroom mantra, "If nobody has told you today, I believe in you". My goal is to create a learning environment that will engage the whole student, no matter where they are.
