Challenger Veterans Day Program
Challenger celebrated Veterans Day a little early this year, with a program on November 8. Veterans were invited to enjoy breakfast in the school library before the program. The program began at 8:45am with some 5th grade students leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Then the Challenger Middle School Band, led by Jennifer Hill, performed the Star Spangled Banner. Followed by 4th graders singing Thank You Soldiers and Armed Forces Medley. Dr. Wallace introduced Gunnery Sergeant Joey Woods and Staff Sergeant Robert Ruiz. Gunnery Sergeant Woods was our guest speaker. The CMS band performed the Marches of the Armed Forces Medley, and then Student Council members told us about the 5 branches of the military. The program concluded with the CMS Band performance of God Bless America. We were honored to have been able to celebrate Veterans Day in such a way, and with so many soldiers to commemorate!
