March Update from Dr. Wallace
Last week, we started our ACAP state testing with the 2nd grade. They did an awesome job and really stuck with the test. This week we start 3rd grade ELA. Please make sure students are well-rested, have breakfast or get breakfast and arrive on time for the best testing administration.
Thank you to those who joined us on Sunday for the Spring Clean event. Hatfield, Olsen, Bridges, and Schieltz families helped us plant flower containers for the front entrance and two trees! We also did a trash pick-up as well. Our Student Council President, Kennedy, came to help with her Granddad and ended up naming our new trees. The new crabapple near the gym is named Bob. The new Maple on the playground is Gabriella and the little tree next to her is now known as Fred. We look forward to many years of shade from our efforts on Sunday. Thank you to PTA for funding our beautification project.
Report cards came home last week. Attached to many of them were directions for online registration which is now open. If you received this paper, please complete your registration for next year. If you did not receive the paper, you've already done it! Nice job!
Speaking of report cards....I look at each report card before they go home, and usually write comments on ones where the student has really excelled or shown growth. This time, I noticed that I wasn't writing as many congratulations as I usually do. Overall, grades were not as good as I expected. I spoke with students here about that, and am encouraging them to keep achievement as their focus. We want to finish the strongest we can, which means not letting up on learning and growing. Your encouragement at home is always appreciated and together we make the most effective team for your children. Thank you for helping us keep learning the focus this spring.
