Sherry Taylor

My name is Sherry Taylor and I have taught everything from Algebraic Connections to Calculus BC. My husband was military, and we moved often which has allowed me to teach in many different areas in the south. I also had the great privilege of working at Walt Disney world which is more challenging than it would appear and also the most fun you can be paid to have. Disney allows you to be the person your mama wanted you to be when you were just a tiny tot.

I was also in the Who’s Who of American Junior Colleges, won an academic scholarship and finished my degrees while raising my hoard of children. I have been recognized as a top volunteer in Polk County Schools as well as by the Girl Scouts and I led my own Cub Scout troop and taught Sunday School.

My hobbies include reading science fiction and epic fantasy, mmorpgs, cosplay and occasionally tabletop gaming with friends. I have 5 children and 6 amazing grandchildren not to mention one old dog and 2 kittens. I have a soft spot for strays and frequently find myself rescuing everything from an injured possum to baby birds. This year I will be teaching advanced 7th grade math and Algebra 1. It is so very exciting to be working with all this new technology and to be meeting new students virtually for the first time in my life and exploring this new realm of education with my students.
