Stephanie Tomes

Mrs. Tomes teaches 6th grade Reading (Honors and Regular) at Challenger Middle. She loves working with her students; they are a constant source of energy and excitement. This is her 8th year teaching, of which she spent the first three years in Orlando, FL. She constantly works to learn as much as possible about teaching, reading, and kids in order to be a successful teacher. She has published articles in professional publications and been awarded a national grant in teaching American history. At Challenger, she is the cheerleading coach and is the Running Club sponsor.

When not teaching, she is usually running (always training for some race), reading (of course she loves to read!), or spending time with her family. She also loves yoga because it is a great stress-reliever and helps her stay injury-free with all the running. She is looking forward to working with all her fantastic new students and spreading the love of reading to all of you!
