Annual Black History Program
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. History.
Columbia held its Annual Black History Program on Friday, February 28th. The theme of this year's program was Women Paving the Way. The program highlighted African American women who were influential in the fields of Social Action, Sports, Entertainment, Writing, Entrepreneurship, and Politics.
The program was put on by our African American History class. Student performances consisted of dance and poetry. The choir and jazz band performed as well.
