Weather Notice
Due to expected incoming severe weather this afternoon, all Huntsville City Schools, Offices, and Programs will close at 12:30pm today, June 23, 2017. This includes all Huntsville City schools, offices, summer school, extended day, summer & sports camps, and the summer feeding program. Schools currently being served with bus routes will have buses at their schools by 12:30pm. All employees will be dismissed as well, according to unavoidable leave procedures.

FIRST FTC # 7838 Crimson Typhoon Robotics Team

More than robots! FIRST is proven to encourage students to pursue education and careers in STEM related fields, inspire them to become leaders and innovators, and enhance their 21st Century work-life skills. Robotics is about learning and innovative problem solving. "is a part of ethos of FIRST. It is a way of doing things that encourages high quality work, emphasizes the value of others, and respects individuals and the community. With Gracious Professionalism, fierce competition and mutual gain are not separate notions" FIRST Tech Challenge is designed for students who want to compete head to head using an exciting sports model. Teams design, build, and program their robots to compete on a 12' x 12' field, in an Alliance format, against other teams. Robots are built from a reusable platform,powered by Android technology and programmed using Java.

How to Join / Membership Requirements: 
To join the FTC #7838, obtain an application form from Ms. Luchner, room 154. The members are required to attend at least 2 afternoons after school,
Other Info: 
Teams, including Coaches, Mentors, and volunteers are required to develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles, such as rapid prototyping. Awards are given for the competition, as well as community outreach, design, and other real- world accomplishments.
