FTA Students Recognized By State Superintendent Dr. Mackey
The Future Teachers of Alabama (FTA) Grow Our Own Program provides high school students considering careers in education with how-to and explanatory resources. It also gives current teachers and advisors a platform to share their own stories and encourage students to pursue teaching as a career path.
Four of our Future Teachers of Alabama (FTA) students: Tiffany Speakman, Eric Davis, Ronald Davis, and Landon Whetstone got to go to the Sate Department in Montgomery on Thursday, May 12th. They were recognized by the State Superintendent, Dr. Mackey, and the Alabama State Board of Education for placing first in an FTA "Grow Our Own" competition.
Landon Whetstone placed first in the Teacher Notebook and Display contest. Landon had the opportunity to present information about how the group created the project.
The students were accompanied by their advisor, Mrs. Goodson and Principal King.
Congratulations on a job well done!
