Together We S.O.A.R

As part of a district-wide initiative, Farley Elementary School implemented a school-wide, positive behavior system. This is called PBIS, Positive Behavior Intervention Systems. Our goal with PBIS is to improve the school climate and maximize academic achievement. We accomplish this goal by continuing to set behavioral expectations in the classroom and non-classroom settings. Students are encouraged through rewards and incentives when they demonstrate these expected behaviors on a consistent basis. At Farley Elementary we have adopted the motto “Together We S.O.A.R” to outline the expectations that will support and create a positive and respectful learning environment. S.O.A.R stands for:

S – Show Respect

O – Organized and Ready

A – Arrive on Time

R – Respond Responsibly

Students learn more about these expectations through classroom lessons, modeling, and practice. In addition, Farley S.O.A.R posters are placed around the building. Students receive S.O.A.R money, which are tickets that resemble money. These tickets are given out as a reward for exhibiting S.O.A.R behavior. Our goal is to acknowledge students who are doing the right thing. S.O.A.R money can be collected and turned in for different types of rewards.PBIS Award with Farley Faculty and Students

Farley Elementary has been awarded District Wide PBIS School of the Year and HCS PBIS Elementary School of the Year! Congratulations to Principal Towana Smith, the Farley Staff and students, for all their hard work and success! WORKING TOGETHER WE S.O.A.R!!!
