Andrea Blankenship

Welcome to GATE! My name is Andrea Blankenship. I grew up in several small towns all over Texas. I am married with 2 sons. I met my husband at Texas A & M University. We married in 1997. After Texas we moved to California where our two sons were born. We moved to Huntsville, AL in 2007. I have taught various grade levels in Texas, California and Alabama. I took a few years off to stay home with my boys, and returned to part-time teaching at Calhoun Community College in 2010 where I taught in the Adult Education Dept. It has always been a dream of mine to work with gifted students, and so I was very excited when I decided to return to full-time work, and I was offered the position with Huntsville City Schools as a GATE teacher in January 2018. I look forward to getting to know your students and helping them develop their critical and creative thinking skills!
