Joetta Wilson

I am a native of the historical city, Boston, Massachusetts. I moved to Washington, D.C. after completing my college degree. I met and married my husband, Bobby, of 38 years. I have two grown sons, yeah! My two grandchildren bring a lot of joy to my life. I spend my relaxation time reading, attending family gatherings, shopping and traveling.

This is my 33rd year of teaching! I began my teaching career in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland. I relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina and taught in a private school environment for twelve years. In Greensboro I taught mostly second grade, but was privileged to teach grades three, five and eight.
I returned to Alabama and taught first grade for six years in a private school in Birmingham, Alabama. Then the school year 2004-2005 I was given the wonderful opportunity to teach second graders at Hampton Cove Elementary School. In 2010 I moved with Goldsmith-Schiffman Elementary and continue to this day. I truly enjoy teaching second grade because I can help them develop into life-long learners.
