Tenisha Cummings


I am Ms. Tenisha Cummings and I am the TOSA here at GSES for the 2016-2017 School Year.

I have spent my past 11 years of teaching at J.O. Johnson High School and Chapman Middle School. I spent my first five years of teaching at Chapman Middle School as a Physical Education teacher and Girls Volleyball and Basketball Coach. I spent my last six years at J.O. Johnson High School as a Physical Education teacher, Head Girls Volleyball, Assistant Girls Basketball and Track and Field Coach as well as the Assistant Athletic Director. For the past three years, I have spent the first part of my summers as the GradPoint Credit Recovery Facilitator (Summer School) for Huntsville City Schools at Johnson High and Lee High Schools.

I am a native of Jasper, Al and a graduate of Walker High School. I hold degrees from two great institutions of higher learning, which are Wallace State Community College in Hanceville and Alabama A&M University where I also played volleyball. I have a 15-year-old daughter who is very active in the arts and track and field.

I am currently pursing my degree in Educational Leadership.
