Greenpower Year-End Results for 2018-19

Two Huntsville City Schools have been honored as national champion teams this year.  Hampton Cove Elementary School's team, which was led by Courtney Hoven, are the National Champions for the GreenpowerUSA Goblin Division.  In Ms. Hoven's first year as the Hampton Cove Elementary Greenpower teacher, the team won the Boeing 30s race and placed 2nd overall in the Goblin Cup and Greenspaces Goblin event. The Grissom High School team is also recognized as the winner of the National Championship in the GreenpowerUSA F24 Advanced Modified Division. This team is led by Chris Faust and the team competed in a total of eight events this year. They won 1st Place Overall in 2 events, 2nd Place Overall in 3 events, and 3rd Place Overall in three events. The team was comprised of students who were involved in the first ever GreenpowerUSA race in April 2015 at the old Grissom High School campus.

    • 4th Place Nationally Modified Division - Whitesburg P-8 (led by Nancy Junkins)
    • 7th Place Nationally Modified Division - Challenger Middle School (led by Teri Mitchell)
  • F24 Advanced Division (High Schools)
    • 2nd Place Nationally Kit Division - Lee/NC High School (led by Casey Tumminello)
    • 2nd Place Nationally Custom Division - Grissom High School (led by Chris Faust)
    • 3rd Place Nationally Custom Division - Huntsville High School (led by Sarah Stephens)
