Sandra Garrett Rigsby
In this political season, I teach one of the most fascinating subjects at Grissom High. I am the American Government teacher. I began my teaching career 27 years ago. I am happy to say I still love my students. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Gary. We are lucky that our two sons gave us the most precious gifts that we could ever have been given, four grandchildren. We have three accomplished grandsons and one chic granddaughter ages 14, 13, 12 and 11. Our life revolves around whatever interests the "grand's." If they want to go there, play it, eat it or experience it, that is what we do. Our happy place is the beach. If it involves sand, we are there. As any of my students can tell you, I love sharks. They are my passion. When I retire, I plan to do shark research. I would LOVE to tag sharks. To me, they are the most magnificent creatures on earth. I want to see them flourish for generations to come.
