Sandra Garrett Rigsby

In this political season of transition, I teach one of the most compelling subjects at Grissom High. I am the regular American Government and United States History 11th teacher. I began my teaching career 29 years ago. I am happy to say I still love my students, my career choice and the subjects I am allowed to teach.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Gary. We are lucky that our two sons and daughter-in-laws gave us the most precious gifts that we could have ever been given, four grandchildren. We have three grandsons and one granddaughter. Our life revolves around whatever interests the "grand's."

Our happy place is the beach. If it involves sand, we love it. As any of my students can tell you, I love sharks. They are my passion. I was lucky enough to experience feeding sharks this summer and it was exhilarating. I hope to play a part in the preservation of these magnificent creatures so that future generations may enjoy their beauty.
