Timothy Wyant

I am the proud father of a 25 year old daughter, Tori, and 22 year old son, Alex. Tori has her BSN and is employed as an Oncology Nurse in Atlanta. Her husband Cason is a project manager for a commercial construction company which builds many of the new schools in North Georgia. Both received their degrees from the University of North Georgia in beautiful Dahlonega, Georgia. They are expecting their first child in October.

My son Alex is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering with an Environmental Engineering minor at Kennesaw State University. He will graduate in May.

I relocated from Atlanta, Georgia in 2017 where I worked as an Assistant Principal for six years at Peachtree Ridge High School in Gwinnett County. I've spent the last three years an Assistant Principal at Mountain Gap P-8. I have enjoyed getting to know Huntsville and being a part of the community. In my free time, I work out at the YMCA, hike on the various trails, run, bike, explore new places, experience the local food scene, support the Ohio State Buckeyes, O H! and attend Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

I am excited to have the opportunity to become a part of the Grissom team! The following quote from Teddy Roosevelt's speech, "Citizen in the Republic", embodies my commitment to all Grissom High School stakeholders.

I taught Social Studies and HPE at the GIVE Center East Alternative School in Gwinnett County, Georgia from 2004 -2011. I was promoted to the Community School Director at Peachtree Ridge High School where I served from 2011- 2012. I then took a lateral leadership appointment to Assistant Principal where I served from 2012 - 2017. I served as an Assistant Principal at Mountain Gap Middle School from 2017-2020.

My career goal is to earn a promotion to Principal of a Middle or High School.
