Hawk News from the Principal
Hello HCES Family!
I hope you are enjoying your summer and your family is staying safe and well!
I am so excited to announce that we were able to retain all of our teachers for this upcoming school year! Even though we lost a first grade unit for next year, we gained a second grade unit and I am super happy to share that Mrs. Brandy Tate will be moving to this second grade position. Mrs. Tate was a wonderful addition to our first grade team last year and I know she will continue to thrive in second grade. Mrs. Tate is going into her 12th year of teaching and holds a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. She has taught second grade previously.
We have also gained an additional fourth grade unit for next year and Mrs. Leslie Carlisle, who was our Reading Interventionist this past year, will join our fourth grade team. We look forward to having her with us full time next year. Mrs. Carlisle has previously taught fourth grade in the 10 years she has taught and holds a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I know you will help me welcome them to our HCES family!
We are doing another push to collect library books, pictures, and laptops this upcoming week between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 8th - Friday, June 12th.
Bins will be located right outside the front doors to collect these items.
Chromebook collection for students who are not returning next year:
Students will keep their Chromebooks over the summer unless they are broken or your child will not return to an HCS school next school year.
If you have a broken device that needs repair please see the computer summer repair details in the Smore.
Our yearbooks have not yet arrived and we anticipate a summer delivery at this time. Once I have more information I will share our distribution plan.
Please remember to send in and updated proof of residence and complete registration in Powerschools. If you need support, please contact the school. We need everyone to register so we can better prepare for our upcoming year.
We are all looking forward to next year! I miss you and hope you all enjoy your summer and encourage your children to READ, READ, READ!!! :)
