Hawk News from The Principal 7/18

Dear HCES Family,

We're getting closer!  I wanted to update you on four important items:

  1. Due to new developments in our professional development schedule, we must adjust our Orientation/Meet & Greet/Supply Drop-Off Schedule. The change will affect Newcomer, K-3 Orientation/Meet & Greet/Supply Drop-Off. Thank you for understanding, your patience and cooperation. I apologize for the inconvenience. The adjusted schedule is in my S'more newsletter, website and facebook page.
  2. Due to a change in our professional development schedule, the school will be closed on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 11:00-4:00 p.m. We will reopen for normal hours Monday, August 1, 2022.
  3. We know you are excitedly awaiting your placement cards (fully registered students only). We have not been able to access all addresses via PowerSchools. Instead of sending cards out for only half of the students who are fully registered, we decided to wait until later this week, and send them to all completely registered students at the same time. We hope this issue is rectified early this week. Placement cards will go out this week.
  4. Students who are not completely registered will be placed in classes once registration is complete. If registration is incomplete at the time of orientation(s), the student will be placed in classes after orientations have taken place. Notification of teacher will occur for these students via email once they are placed. Teachers and classrooms will not be available after their scheduled Orientation/Meet & Greet/Supply Drop-Off date and time. These students will have to wait until the first day of school to drop off supplies. Please register your student(s)/upload documents as soon as possible to prevent this from happening.

Is your child registered for the 2022-2023 school year? It is almost time for us to mail out teacher placement cards! We will only send teacher placement cards to those students who have complete registrations (all documents provided). Thank you in advance for understanding that we cannot accept teacher requests. Please see our Meet and Greet/Supply Drop-off schedule below.

HCES will no longer qualify for free breakfast and lunch for the 22-23 school year. The pricing matrix for meals is below as well.

Please check our website, Facebook page, and the PTA Facebook page for updates.

Our office hours for the remainder of the summer are Monday -Thursday 8am-3pm, closed Fridays. We are currently undergoing a phone transition and you may experience trouble calling. As usual, feel free to email us at: LaKeeta.Perkins@hsv-k12.org or Teri.Pape@hsv-k12.orghces.officeaide@hsv-k12.org.
