Parent Information Letter 4/5

Hello HCES families,

I hope you all had a wonderful spring break and holiday weekend!

Can you believe we only have 8 more weeks left of this school year? I am so proud of our entire school family for the work we have done and will continue this last nine weeks. I know many of you have questions about what next year will look like. I promise to share as soon as we are informed. I do know that we will continue to wear masks for now. HCS will also have a virtual school option for next year and we ask that you apply if you are interested in attending virtual school next year.

This past Friday, April 2, 2021, was World Autism Awareness Day. Since we were not in school, we plan to celebrate on Monday by wearing blue! HCES will "Light it up Blue" in recognition of people with autism and those who love and support them.

I also want to remind parents who arrive early for car line in the afternoons to pull up close to the car in front of you before you park. Many times we have cars parked with space in front of them which backs up the car line even more. Please pull forward as close as you can and remember that we can not block the fire station. If the car line is backed up to the fire station, please leave room for the fire trucks to exit in case of an emergency.

We have ACAP testing this month for our 2nd-5th grade students and our teachers have sent out the testing schedule for students who are testing. We do ask that you are on time for school each morning because we can not allow anyone to enter the classrooms once testing has started. We also ask that you alert your child's teacher if they are absent. We appreciate your diligence in working with us for the good of your children. We know this year has been different and difficult at times, but we will continue to do our best for our students. Please continue to reach out to your child's teachers or admin if you have issues or concerns.

We will have K for a Day virtually on Friday, April 9th. If you know of any families in your neighborhood who plan to attend HCES in the fall, please ask them to visit our school website or call the school to obtain kindergarten registration information.

We would like to thank our HCES PTA for their hard work in creating fun activities for our students and supporting our school this year! The HCES PTA has created a parent interest form and we ask that you click on the link and complete the survey.  HCES PTA Parent Interest Link
