HCMS Robotics Team
On February 15, HCMS students from all 3 grade levels competed in the regional Science Olympiad competition at UAH. This competition hosts students from across North Alabama where they take up the challenge of exercising their brains. Working in teams, young people face more than two dozen thought provoking (and brain bending) activities. They will call on scientific knowledge, deduction and analysis to (among other things) launch rockets, design a robot, and build the strongest tower. The top three middle and high school teams will advance to compete in the Alabama State Science Olympiad.
This year we had our largest-ever team from HCMS: a full roster of 15 students and 2 alternates. They earned 4 medals: 2nd place in Ping Pong Parachutes, 2nd in Water Quality, 4th place Circuit Lab, 4th Meteorology. Congratulations to the team!
