DAR Writing Competition
Earlier this year, our 4th and 5th grade classes participated in the Daughter's of the American Revoultion Poster and Writing Contest. The topic of this year's writing contest was the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The poster portion of this contest promotes civics education, American hertiage and history, love of contry, and serive. This is always a wonderful opportunity for our scholars to express themselves in a postive, educational way. We thank all of our scholars who participated.
We want to give a special shout out to those students who placed in this contest.
In the Junior American Citizens 4th Grade Poster Contest:

In the local chapter's American History Essay Contest:
1st Place: Jonte Blackburn
2nd Place: Lalia Johnson
3rd Place: Xyra Nweton
As well as our contest winners, two students also where awarded the DAR Youth Citizenship Medal. Congratulations Isaac Harris and Marques Crum for recieving this award.
