STAR Reading and Math
When we return from the holidays, students will take the STAR assessments in reading and math. Students should do their best work on both tests so that their teachers can get an accurate measure of their growth for the year. At this point in the year, we hope to see at least a .5 increase on their grade equivalency (GE). We will send reports home that will illustrate your child’s growth. We hope you will reach out to us if you have questions or would like to discuss the results further. We will take the assessment again at the end of the year. At that time, we expect to see at least one year’s growth.
If you would like to volunteer at Highlands Elementary, please email me at Amber.Hall@hsv-k12.org or give me a call at (256) 428-7200. You can leave a message in the front office as well. We would love to have your help and support!
Keep collecting those bottle caps. Any plastic, screw-top lids will work. Count them and send them in!
