Eleven Schools Temporarily Transitioning to Remote Learning

Eleven Huntsville City Schools will temporarily transition to remote learning on Thursday, Jan. 20 and Friday, Jan. 21. Students will return to campus on Monday, Jan. 24.  The district’s Preventative Measures Team worked collaboratively with the school’s leadership team to assess several factors before making the decision to transition to remote learning, including the number of positive COVID-19 cases and/or staffing availability.  For additional details, including a complete list of the schools affected, click the More Information button below.

Cross Country Boys are State Champs - Again!

The Huntsville High School Boys Cross Country team put in a great performance to once again earn the State Championship. The 2021 seniors have won the State Championship in every year of their high school experience.

Huntsville HS boys beat the runner-up team by 28 points,  In the state meet, each team's top 7 runners are scored, Huntsvilles Top Runners took the 1, 5, 9, 16, 23, 26, 42 places. 

Scoring points for the Panthers:

  • 1st place:  Will Pinson (12)
  • 5th Place:  Jackson Harris (11)
  • 9th Place:  Matthew Cobb:  (12)
  • 16th Place:  Eric Moore (9)
  • 23rd Place:  Aiden Brinkley (12)
  • 26th Place:  Charles Pearson (8)
  • 43nd Place:  Luke Kennedy (11)

The Huntsville Girls Finished a strong 5th place with 2 runners in the top 3.  Ava McIntosh(11), finished 2nd and Sara Cobb(10) finished 3rd.
