Lori Otto

Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year! My name is Lori Otto, and I teach special education. I am currently working on my dissertation for my doctoral degree at Nova Southeastern University in special education leadership with a focus on applied behavior analysis. I have taught at the elementary, middle school, and high school grade levels. I love being a teacher. This is my twelfth-year teaching students with special needs. I am also a sponsor for the HHS Junior Civitan Club and Panther Pals.
My teaching philosophy is based on respecting differences, building a climate of trust, and tapping into my student’s strengths and abilities. I believe we all have something to contribute and learn from each other. I enjoy learning new things from my students each day. I use multi-media-based instruction in the classroom and believe in a consistent, positive, and respectful approach to making lasting, meaningful behavior changes.
