National German Honor Society Induction Ceremonies
The National German Honor Society Induction Ceremonies were held on May 3, 2021 for German 2 students and on May 4, 2021 for German 3 students. The National German Honor Society was founded in Coral Gables, Florida in 1968. Delta Epsilon Phi recognizes excellence in the study of German and fosters the understanding of one’s own culture by learning to appreciate another. Each student had to maintain a 3.0 average in all of their classes and a 3.6 average in German. 13 students were inducted this year and I am very proud of each and everyone of them.
During the ceremony, the students promised to continue to honor the German language and culture and were welcomed into the Honor Society and presented with a membership certificate. The German 3 students recited their favorite poem “Aber nein” by Brigitte Fuchs, enjoyed some chocolate cake and each other’s company since they had not been all together as a class this year.
