A bit about me... I love to travel, dance, bake, and read! I'm an outdoor type of person who likes gardening, camping, and swimming. You can find me watching sports or attending football and basketball games. I love my Tuskegee University Golden Tigers, Chicago Bulls, and Seattle Seahawks! I also love spending quality time with my family, friends, and dog.

Additional Certified Staff
I currently serve as Title 1 Curriculum Specialist for Dawson Elementary School. My main duty is to serve as a liaison and resource to faculty/staff and admin by providing Math support/coaching and performing Title 1 duties. I collaborate with Federal Programs, LEA, school, and SDE personnel to plan for and support coaching that impacts teaching and student learning while also facilitating professional learning to improve instruction.

My first teaching experience with Huntsville City Schools began at The Academy for Academics and Arts as a 5th Grade Teacher. I held this position from August 2005- May 2011. I later transitioned to a 3rd Grade position at AAA from August 2011- May 2015. During my career I have been privileged to serve as a member of the Capacity Builder Cohort and Standards Based Report Card Team for HCS in 2013. In 2015 I also served as a TOT for the Culturally Responsive Equity Team. From 2015-2019, I served as an ARI Reading Specialist. I attended the ARI Retooling Internship for Reading Specialist in 2017 along with serving on the Teacher Interview Screening Committee for HCS in 2017. After embarking upon a new Literacy Pathway I am more aware of Social Emotional Learning as I attended the Collaborative Classroom training in 2018. In 2019 I attended Fractional, Multiplicative, and Additive OGAP Training.

As I embark upon my 16th year with HCS I look forward to learning more and growing at AWESOME Dawson! #lionpride #dawsonbunch
