Reading Resources

The past year or so has been a rollercoaster for most people, and for our students it has not been easy. Our students have overcome hybrid learning, virtual learning, and traditional learning and we are so proud. Due to the pandemic though, some of students have fallen behind, specifically in their reading. Our teachers and faculty want to provide our families with as many resources as possible to improve our student's reading abilities. Below you will find some resources you can use at home to aid your child. We also encourage students to use their Lexia Core 5 accounts and continue reading AR books while they are at home and on breaks.

Exciting additions to Alabama Virtual Library

  1. Capstone Interactive Library for K-6 – 257 Books (bilingual, favorite characters, some nonfiction). These have audio and word tracking. We are SO PROUD of this collection and being able to provide it free of charge to all Alabama residents.
  2. TeachingBooks – Teaching Books is a VAST collection of resources for PreK – 12. Teachers and students will find resources such as author interviews, read alikes, and full audio versions (of some picture books).
  3. Gale Elementary eBooks – About 50 nonfiction electronic books for students.
