Dr. Rachael McDaniel

Dr. Rachael Garrett McDaniel was born in Jackson, AL and attended and graduated from Jackson High School. She attended and graduated with a degree in Rehabilitation Juvenile Corrections from Troy University. Dr. McDaniel also holds a master’s degree from the University of West AL in Administration and Special Education. In addition, she holds a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Auburn University.
Two additional professional experiences to note are her attendance at Harvard University related to Closing the Achievement Gap and her acceptance and completion of the State of Alabama Superintendent Academy in Tuscaloosa.

Dr. McDaniel has held many administration positions, leading school turnaround within the state. She has supervised all traditional high schools in Montgomery during the state intervention, been principal at Holt High School in Tuscaloosa and SW Regional School in Mobile. She has spent years as an Assistant Principal, Principal, Teacher and as a Juvenile Probation Officer.

While not working, Dr. McDaniel enjoys sports (watching and participating), traveling around the world and being at the beach on a boat.
